In modern day business, we hear a lot about CSFs or Critical Success Factors. So what are Critical Success Factors? Do they pertain to big companies or individual employee? There are many more queries that you may have. For a start, they are the most important key factors that you should make a list of before you start a task. They are important because they are crucial to make your business or break your objective.
So what exactly are these critical determinants? There are a few and one or two may vary depending on your objective. But broadly speaking the Factors are common for all business with any objective. Some organizations identify CFSs at the time of setting their objectives and follow them. While some business want a change of pace and then decide to adopt them.
Some successful entrepreneurs and business are actually using them without their knowledge. These could include – production targets, market share to be achieved, reduce costs, reduction in employee turnover or brand marketing.
These actually cover a broad range of factors such as your business strengths, external uncontrollable factors, market conditions and environment that you are surviving in. The type of Industry and competition are also major points to keep in mind.
They can improve your abilities in more than one way. It does not matter whether you are an employee, team or an employer. Once you understand the meaning of CFSs, you will be able to identify them yourself for your company or group.
Your annual objective could be to achieve higher customer satisfaction, process improvements, adding new products, increase in net worth, staying in the market or simply open more branches. As your focus changes, so should your critical factors and plans. It could just be a temporary problem that has risen or your future for the business. Not just organizations, even individuals can use them to improve their skills and increase their value.
What are Critical Success Factors is not longer a specialized field of research, but covers a whole gamete. Many present day professionals, board of directors, department managers and executive officer are not moving toward this approach.
